Honeywell Programmable Thermostat

Honeywell Programmable Thermostat

The American multinational conglomerate that manufactures the Honeywell programmable thermostat started its business manufacturing devices that monitor temperature levels in coal furnaces. Today, the company continues to manufacture temperature control equipment, although it has now expanded far beyond the coal furnaces.

A Honeywell programmable thermostat allows you to set the time when you want your heating or cooling equipment to attain a desired temperature. It can come in models with standard or conventional buttons or a touch screen. The latter consists of a white faceplate atop a green LCD display screen. Touching the arrow icons either adjusts temperature levels, or brings up the menus for setting temperature level changes at chosen schedules.

Among the more popular of the conventional models are the RTH7500D and RTH2520B. Both of these models can accept four different temperature settings for one day. They are also easy to use and are both equipped with a backlight that enables easy reading even in the dark. Perhaps what is most important is that these models can give you an annual savings of up to 33% in heating and cooling costs. For the touch screen models, the VisionPRO8000 model is a good representative. This features a large, backlit display that shows the preset as well as the current temperature. Setting up is uncomplicated and a notification message is displayed to inform you that rescheduling is saved. It also displays reminders on servicing schedules.
